The provenance, ownership, and scarcity of these objects are derived from their designs, stored immutably on the blockchain, instead of being inherently tied to their physical form.

  • The design blueprints are minted as unique works on the Ethereum blockchain.
  • Based on these design assets, we use digital fabrication to manufacture the physical objects, so that they can be used and enjoyed IRL. Like printing your favourite JPEG, except in 3D.

[Prototype A] was created from generative design - a process of setting up boundary conditions for the model (i.e. load cases, geometries constraints, safety factor, etc), and letting the computer generate a number of outcomes that satisfy all conditions with as little material as possible. It is iterative process of compute-intensive calculations that often results in very organic looking geometry.

This was created in Fusion 360 with cloud computation. Study #5, Outcome 2, Iteration 29.

Manufacture & Material:
Machined out of solid brass, the simple shape can be turned by pretty much any workshop with a lathe.

The brass is un-lacquered and will develop a natural patina over time. Every interaction with your clamy hands will be subtly chronicled in the oxidation process.

"In it for the Pump"

Design:
This design mimics traditional wood carving techniques and pays respect to the Eternal Pump. Numerous carved channels intersect with the wood grain and highlights the maple's natural beauty.

Manufacture & Material:
Designed to be manufactured on commonly available 2.5 Axis CNCย machines, and requires only 2 setups. (Which typically makes up a large portion of a machining bill).

The machined wood is sanded and finished with a protective coating to ensure longevity, preventing it from absorbing moisture, dirt, and bad juju. We found odie's oil to be the best at creating amazing finishes on wood. Be sure to source FSCย certified wood like we do, "Your JPEGs are killing the planet already."

"In it for the Tech"

Design:

Manufacture & Material:
This design is produced using additive manufacturing. 3D printed in Nylon using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), a process that requires no support structure during print, so it can produce complex geometries that are impossible with other methods.

The resulting prints has strong mechanical properties, with rough matt surfaces, giving the generative design bone like appearances.

"In it for the Art"

Design:
The gentle cradle in the centre creates an illusion of softness through geometry, as if the brass pill is sinking into the stone. ย The simple form helps to accentuate the material's natural texture.

Manufacture & Material:
The production of this design requires more specialist CNC machines that can accurately carve out stones with water cooling system.

Travertineโ€™s subtle veining and porous holes adds texture without causing too much distraction, so that you can concentrate on trading monkey coins.

The Nitty Gritty

Physical Prints
  • Tokens purchased from us via manifold marketplace (not the secondary market) are eligible to claim a physical print, manufactured by us, Hash Inc. To claim your print, follow instructions here.
Assets
  • The assets required for manufacture - 3D CAD files (.obj) and specifications (in metadata) are stored immutability and permanently on Arweave.
  • You are welcome to have this produced at your favourite boutique workshop, local CNC shop or if you are Ron Swanson, fabricate it yourself.
  • More details in Production FAQ.
Licensing
  • We are strong believers in open source and composability of ideas. If we are so lucky to have people re-create, distribute, and build derivatives of our designs, we think that some value will inevitably get accrued back to all of us.
  • That withstanding, we still don't fully understand the implication of CC0 license in the long term for a project like this. So we will not release it to the public domain just yet.
  • However you are more than welcome to use the assets to produce, gift, and/or sell the physical. We are convinced that the true value lies in the provenance, scarcity, and ownership of the digital counterpart, where they are secured and recorded on the blockchain. The digital token is the true original.

FAQ

  • Wen utility?
  • There is zero utility.

    What you get is the token art, the design assets, and option to print the physical. You can use the physical to store your cold wallet, vitamin pills, diamonds, molly, whatever your bag may be.
  • But wen airdrop?
  • No airdrops.
