Design:This was created with generative design - a process of setting up boundary conditions for the model (i.e. load cases, geometries constraints, safety factor, etc), and letting the computer generate a number of outcomes that satisfy all conditions with as little material as possible. Manufacture & Material:
This design is produced using additive manufacturing. 3D printed in Nylon using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), a process that requires no support structure during print, so it can produce complex geometries that are impossible with other methods.
The resulting prints has strong mechanical properties, with rough matt surfaces, giving the generative design bone like appearances.
